Benfieldside Morris Men

Formed from a school team in 1965, the Morris Men celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2015 by attending a Ring Meeting in Holland.  Over the years they have attended Ring Meetings and Days of Dance around the UK, and attended festivals in Holland, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia as well as visiting Russia.

We dance all forms of Cotswold Morris with both sticks and handkerchiefs and also the Tyneside Rapper Sword dance.

We meet at Witton Gilbert Community Centre just outside Durham City (postcode for sat nav DH7 6TF) on alternate Wednesdays at 8.15pm from September to May. During the summer months we can be found dancing at local hostelries.
